Did you know that seniors can apply to get a property tax grant from the government?  Yes, it's true.  Whether you live in Markham, Stouffville or anywhere else in Ontario, the annual property Tax Grant is provided to seniors with low to middle incomes who own their own homes.  In 2010  the maximum grant is $500.  Not bad ehh.  All you have to do to receive it is complete a Form ON 479, Ontario Credits and Senior Homeowners' Property Tax Grant.  Here's the phone number for additional information.  1 866 668-8297 or 1 800 263-7776 for teletypewriter.
