I'm beginning to realize how much of a difference it makes if a Realtor has training in Interior Design.
Yesterday, I made my rounds to view homes in Markham that had just come onto the market. I was excited when I realized one than had been staged. Everything was done as might 'normally' be done by a stager...except for one thing - the walls were in sad shape, and I was not impressed.
The staging failed to include a freshening up of walls with modern paint colours.
Imagine, you have some nice art, pillows and finishing touches against a backdrop that is lacklustre, worn, and so uninspiring.
Staging is a great investment when done well. And, frankly every home needs a little help before it goes onto the market. Staging should be examined and applied from a very broad perspective - the art accessories a stager brings is one layer of a very important piece of the puzzle, when it comes to selling your home. What else do you need to do to get your home sold? Ask a Realtor who has experience and training in Interior Design and/or home staging.
Getting the biggest bang for your buck in your Real Estate transaction isn't as simple as letting the stager loose in your home.
