If colour could be measured on a sound meter which ones would give you the best result in the sale of your home? More often than not, the ones that are quieter on the proverbial 'sound meter' than those where the buyer feels he needs to run for cover because it's so loud.
When buyers walk into a home listed for sale, they tend to like homes that give them a feeling of calm without being boring. So, colours that are richly saturated in colour (red, orange, yellow, green, blue) have a purpose in any resale home but, work best when they are used sparingly and paired with calmer colours like various shades of cream, taupe, etc.
Here are some of my favourite colours for a main living area from Benjamin Moore: oc-50 November Rain, oc-56 Moonshine; oc-15 baby fawn, hc-81 manchester tan, cc-578 Hemp seed, cc-500 ranchwood, cc308 thousand islands. Look at these at various time of the day to get the best result.
Happy selling!
